COOPERS FLEXOLT®

FLEXOLT is the first ever oral lice treatment for sheep with any length of wool.
For the control of isoxazoline-susceptible lice (Bovicola ovis), including strains resistant to synthetic pyrethroids and insect growth regulators, on sheep and lambs.

Oral lice treatment for sheep.

Active Ingredients
Fluralaner 10mg/mL

Indications
For the control of isoxazoline-susceptible lice (Bovicola ovis), including strains resistant to synthetic pyrethroids and insect growth regulators, on sheep and lambs.

Dosage
For oral (drenching) use only.

DO NOT USE in lambs less than 6 kg liveweight.

The dose is 1.5 mL per 10 kg liveweight (0.15mL per kg liveweight). This equates to a dose rate of 1.5 mg of Fluralaner per kg liveweight.

The following table may be used as a guide:

Liveweight (kg)Dose (mL)
6-101.5
11-162.5
17-203.0
21-304.5
31-406.0
41-507.5
51-609.0
61-7011.0
71-8012.0
81-9014.0
91-100*15.0

*Add 1.5mL for each 10 kg above 100 kg.

A representative sample of animals should be weighed before treatment. Dose the mob to the heaviest animal by liveweight in each group (ewes, wethers, rams, lambs).

Check the accuracy of the applicator before and during the drenching procedure.

It is essential that every sheep is treated to achieve lice control. Mark sheep as they are treated to ensure untreated sheep can be easily identified. DO NOT leave any sheep in the flock untreated. DO NOT mix treated sheep with untreated sheep.

If the dose is spat out during treatment, or you are unsure an animal has been treated, retreat with a full dose immediately.

Ideally time treatment to coincide with shearing of the majority of sheep on a property as treatment off-shears will achieve optimum lice control. As Flexolt can be used on sheep of any wool length, ensure all other unshorn sheep are treated at the same time.

Treated sheep must be kept separate from untreated sheep, lice infested sheep or sheep of unknown lice status. For effective lice control, every sheep on the property should be treated at the same time. It is recommended that a thorough muster be conducted so that no untreated sheep remain. Boundary fences should be checked to ensure animals are contained and stray sheep are excluded.

If introducing untreated stock, treat with Flexolt and do not mix until 4 weeks after treatment when sheep are treated off shears, or six weeks after treatment when sheep are treated with long wool.

Treat pregnant ewes at least 4 weeks before lambing commences to allow sufficient time to achieve lice control and prevent infestation of lambs. Ewes and lambs can be treated together after lambing has finished.
